Medical Careers and Systems is a year-long course that provides students the opportunity to explore a career in healthcare. Students will gain knowledge and skills in law and ethics, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, safety, infection control, and employability. CPR certification is available.
Unique to this course is an overview of career clusters, pathways, and ladders; note-taking and test-taking strategies; and some simple medical math.
This course is recommended for students interested in taking a future health science certification course.
Completion of this course is recommended prior to taking any CTE certifying health science course.
Articulation: Students are eligible to take the Macomb Community College Medical Terminology and or Body Systems exam for credit.
